Carmela "Millie" (Parella) Bussolari, 96, of Worcester passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 17, 2014 in the Sterling Village Center, with family gathered at her bedside. Carmela was born in Worcester, one of nine children of Italian immigrants Antonio and Pasqualina (Catania) Parella. She grew up in Worcester, met and then married her love Marino Bussolari. Together they settled in the burncoat section of Worcester to raise their family and lived there happily until Marino passed away in 1981. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. Carmela is survived by her two devoted sons, Richard J. Bussolari and his wife Joan of Leicester, Raymond B. Bussolari and his wife Jeannette of West Boylston; two grandsons, Tony and his wife Jillian, and Joseph Bussolari; three great grandchildren, Aili, Aine'and Talyn; Many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Five brothers, Louis, Charles, Frank, James and Joseph Parella, and three sisters, Lucy Purtillo, Catherine Casella and Natalie DiRienzo all pre deceased her. Carmela was all about family. She found her greatest moments being with her husband, children, grandchildren and extended family. The times when the all were gathered for holidays, special occasions and family events were her life's special times. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 20th at 10:30 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial next to her husband will follow in St. John Cemetery. A period of calling hours will be held from 9 am to 10:30 am prior to the service.
