After retirement Joyce continued to live in Worcester always wanting to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. Then nearly five years ago, Joyce made the move to Rochester, enjoying the last years of her life with her family. Joyce was a devoted and faithful member of her home church Belmont AME Zion. Over the years she was very active in Belmont church functions and organizations. After placing her roots in Rochester, Joyce became a faithful member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, attending bible study and knitting groups which made afghans for those in need. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Robin Chung of Rochester; two grandsons, Allen S. Jordon also of Rochester and Eric M. Jordan of Bronx, NY; two great granddaughters, Alese and Trileise Jordan; a brother, Samuel Bracey Jr. and his wife Gloria of Worcester; and a sister, Rev. Shirley Robinson of Providence RI. Joyce also leaves an Aunt Muriel (Carlos) Anderson, many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. A brother, Charles "House" Bracey and sister, Mary "Mae" Warren pre deceased her. Joyce will be remembered in the hearts of everyone that knew and loved her. She loved being around family and friends and for those who play cards; let's just say you didn't want to be her opponent. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 20th at 11:30 am in the Belmont AME Zion Church, 55 Illinois St. Calling hours will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 am in the church prior to the service. Burial will be private. THE MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements. Joyce's family would like to thank everyone for the phone calls, prayers and cards during a difficult time. A special thank you goes out to her cousins Gayle Anderson and Barbara Harris, as well as all the family and friends that helped to make this service happen.
