Michael A. Littizzio, 75 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. Michael is survived by his wife of fifty years, Carol A. (MacDonald) Littizzio and her daughter, Tracey Carter and her grandchildren, Alexandra, Olivia and Sam; three brothers, Anthony Littizzio and wife Susan of Ellington, CT., Alfred Littizzio and wife Sharon of Franconia, NH., and Ernest Littizzio and wife Carmen of Barre, MA.; a sister, Mary Anne Annunziata and husband Michael of Auburn Ma; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth MacDonald of Athol, MA.; three sisters-in-law, Diane MacDonald and husband Chris Anderson of Worcester, MA., Elaine Fournier and husband Ronald of Athol, MA, and Marilyn Ryder of Athol, MA.; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Michael was born in Worcester, son of the late Ernest and Clara (Desimone) Littizzio and has lived here all his life. He graduated from Classical High School, Worcester Academy and Worcester Polytechnical Institute. Michael worked as an Engineer and Plant Manager for Rodney Hunt and Metso Automation which is the former Neles-Jamesbury Corp. where he retired. A special thank you to our "family" hospice team, Dr. Tahir, Jennifer Halter his nurse at D-F, and The VNA Hospice Program for the outstanding care given to Michael. Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 8-10 a.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 12th at 11:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester.
