Angelo Carnevale, 86, a fifty-seven year resident of Auburn passed away with his family gathered at his bedside, Wednesday, December 3rd 2014. Angelo was born in Worcester on December 13th 1927 to Italian parents Benedetto and Philomena (Gatta) Carnevale. He grew up in Worcester and educated in the Worcester Public Schools; upon his graduation, Angelo joined the U.S. Army serving his country proudly during World War II. Angelo then returned to Worcester and married who would become the love of his life for over 58 years, Antoinette "Toni" Cappoli. They began their life together in Worcester before moving to Auburn where they raised their family for the next 55 years. Angelo worked many years as a machinist for the Henry L Hanson Company before retiring. Angelo is survived by his devoted wife Toni; his two children Michael A. Carnevale of Auburn, Phyllis A. Walsh and her husband Daniel of Marlborough; a brother Anthony Carnevale and his wife Arlene of Worcester; three grandsons, he adored, Ryan and his wife Katherine, Michael and Timothy; Many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Angelo was a gentleman whose life centered on his wife, children, and grandchildren. He found so much enjoyment when he could be with and around them. He loved watching sports, travel and summer vacations in Maine. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church. Angelo's funeral will be held Saturday December 6th from The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St with a procession to St Joseph's Church, 194 Oxford St. Auburn where his celebration of life mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Entombment with Military honors will follow in Notre Dame Mausoleum. A period of calling hours will be held at the funeral home from 9:00 am to 10:15 prior to leaving for church. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in his name may be made to the VNA Care Network, 120 Thomas Street Worcester or the St Joseph's Church building fund, 194 Oxford St.
