Marie J. (Romano) Pecorelli

Marie J. (Romano) Pecorelli, 82, of Shrewsbury passed away peacefully Tuesday November 25 2014 at home with her loving family around her. She is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years Patsy Pecorelli, her loving children; a son Patrick J. Pecorelli and his wife Theresa, of Andover and East Dennis, and her daughter Gina M. Brossi and her husband Louis of Shrewsbury and Marco Island Florida. Marie is the proud grandmother to Jason L. Brossi and Patrick L. Brossi both of Shrewsbury. Marie also leaves her brother Carmen Romano of Millbury, and a sister Ann Marie Lombardi and her husband Joseph of Sturbridge.Marie also leaves an aunt Josephine DeSimone, and an uncle and aunt Peter Mancini and his wife Virginia Mancini. She had a special niece that she was very close to, the late Sheryl Patterson of Franklin. Marie was born in Worcester daughter of the late Carmen and Nardina (Mancini) Romano and lived in Worcester most of her life. She moved to Shrewsbury eight years ago. Marie was a graduate of the David Hale Fanning Worcester Girls Trade School where she learned her seamstress skills. She enjoyed being a homemaker and had a zest for enjoying life. Marie loved to cook, bake and prepare Sunday dinners for her family. She especially looked forward to Christmas Eve each year to prepare a special meal for her family. She loved being with her grandchildren, and enjoyed visiting her family at the Cape. Marie attended The Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann and also several others churches. She had a special devotion to Padre Pio whom she placed all her trust in and got her through her tough days. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Abrams and the Staff at Dana Farber Cancer Institute for their exceptional care and compassion shown to Marie and her family during her illness. Marie's funeral will be held Saturday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM in the Church of St. Mary 640 Main St. Shrewsbury. A period of visitation with the family will be from 8:30AM to 10:30AM on Saturday morning prior to leaving for church. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery.
