Mary Louise (Ginkus) Vercauteren, 72 of North Chelmsford, a loving mother, grandmother, and sister passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2014 in Tufts Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born on October 27, 1942 in Worcester, Massachusetts and was preceded in death by her father, Joseph C. Ginkus and her mother Mary E. (Allen) Ginkus. She was a 1959 graduate of Classical High School and attended Worcester State College. She lived in Worcester, Massachusetts all of her life until most recently moving to North Chelmsford. She is survived by her son, Geoffrey J. Vercauteren and his wife Christine of North Chelmsford, Massachusetts; and her daughter, Noel J. McCann and her husband Sean of Jericho, Vermont; three adored grandchildren, Conor and Mairead McCann of Jericho, Vermont and Carter Vercauteren of North Chelmsford. She also leaves one brother, Joseph C. Ginkus and his wife Beverly of Leicester, Massachusetts. Mary Lou worked at Verizon for over 25 years where she retired as a service representative. She was an avid cook and a devoted dog lover. Family, friends, and others whose lives Mary Lou touched are invited to MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2014 and again at 9:45 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann's Church, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will take place in Saint John's Cemetery in Worcester at a later date.
