Maurice J. "Moe" Catino, Sr., 82, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. His wife of 54 years, Elizabeth (Hassett) Catino, predeceased him in February 2012. He is survived by his daughter, Ann-Maria D'Ambra and her husband Richard L. of Sutton; two sons, Maurice J. "Rick" Catino, Jr. and his wife Jacqueline and Allan P. Catino all of Worcester; six beloved grandchildren, Richard L. D'Ambra, Jr. and his wife Heather of Grafton, Janna Tyrrell and her husband Matthew of Douglas, Alexa Catino, Anissa, Victoria and Elizabeth Catino all of Worcester; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Catino and his sister, Jean Romano. Moe was born in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late Alphonse and Anna (Gioia) Catino and lived in Shrewsbury and Worcester before moving to Sutton in 1998. He was a graduate of Shrewsbury High School, Shrewsbury, MA. Moe began his lifelong career at General Automotive Supply Co., Worcester in 1951 and retired as president of the company in 1997. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, who are all truly broken by the loss of this great man. He was a member of St. Stephen's Church, Worcester and an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus Pope John XXIII Council. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Millbury Health Care Center for the care and compassion given to Moe and his family over the past three months. Services for Moe will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with his funeral mass at 12 noon in Saint Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton St., Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Friday morning from 10-11:30 a.m. in the funeral home prior to his funeral mass.
