Nancy (Mangiulli) Falco, 97, passed away peacefully in the presence of her children on November 17. Her husband of 57 years, Santo Falco, predeceased her in 2005. The daughter of Vittoria (Guido) and Giuseppe Mangiulli, Nancy was born in Worcester on August 17, 1917 and graduated from Commerce high school. A devoted Roman Catholic, her faith was at the center of her life. She was a daily communicant and Third Order Franciscan. An active member of St. Stephen's parish, she was an Extra Ordinary Minister of Holy Communion, a lector, chairperson for the parish Pro Life group and served on the Fair and Social Activities committees. She was active for many years in St. John's Charismatic Prayer Group, and was a member of the Legion of Mary. One of the highlights of her life was making a religious pilgrimage to the both Holy Land and to the Vatican. Nancy was an advocate for children and the poor, cooking for the Mustard Seed and volunteering as a teaching assistant at St. Stephen's grammar school. She enjoyed singing and was a member of the Jolly Jills vocal ensemble for more than 30 years. Before her marriage, she taught religious education classes for First Communion and Confirmation preparation at Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, who were her joy. She possessed integrity, strength of character, a loving disposition and gentility of heart. Her strong sense of family, instilled in her children and grandchildren, was shared in many family gatherings. She also enjoyed reading, knitting, and took great pride in preparing homemade Italian foods for her family and friends. Nancy leaves behind her devoted family: her five children, Marguerite M. Arseneault and her husband Richard of Oxford, Joseph M. Falco of Princeton, Richard G. Falco and his wife Lucia of Worcester, Reverend Ronald G. Falco of Northborough, Deborah N. Tappin and her husband William of Webster; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Gilda Iacavone and Eleanor Lupisella; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Besides her husband Santo, three brothers, Salvatore, Anthony and Mario Mangiulli, and a sister, Marie Amato, all predeceased her. Calling hours at Mercadante Funeral Home, 370 Plantation St. will be Friday, November 21 from 4:00- 7:00 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 22 at 10:30 AM at St. Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton St., Worcester, MA. Her son, the Rev. Ronald G. Falco, will preside. She will be buried beside her husband in St. John's Cemetery.
