Jesse C. Melendez, 28 of Webster, formerly of Dudley passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 16, 2014 in Harrington Hospital with his loving family by his side. Jesse is survived by his mother, Anne L. (Reich) Melendez and her longtime companion John H. Harvard of Webster; his father, Teodoro Melendez and his longtime companion Iris Hernandez of Southbridge; three brothers, Christopher J. Melendez and his wife Meredith of Dudley, Adrian Melendez of Southbridge and Eric Melendez of Mansfield; two sisters, Ariana Melendez of Southbridge and Lisa Melendez of South Carolina; his maternal grandparents, Alfred C. and Nancy Reich of Dudley; his paternal grandfather, Juan Melendez of Puerto Rico; his nephew Camden Melendez of Dudley; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Celia Melendez. Jesse was born in Southbridge, lived in Dudley most of his life where he graduated from Shepherd Hill Regional High School in 2005 and later attended Quinsigamond Community College. Jesse graduated in 2006 from the Associated Training Services of New Hampshire as a heavy equipment operator, and worked as a correctional officer for the Worcester County House of Correction. Jesse was in the United States Navy Reserve as a Navy Seabee. He was a motorcycle enthusiast, enjoyed going to the gym, travelling, especially with his grandfather, and was an avid New England sports fan. Jesse's funeral mass will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake St., Webster. (Please go directly to church). At a later date, burial will take place at Mount Zion Cemetery in Webster. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 19th from 4-7 p.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.
