Lorraine (Drolet) Kissell

Lorraine M. (Drolet) Kissell. 84, of Worcester, died peacefully Friday November 14, 2014 in the Millbury Healthcare Center. Her husband of 61 years, William Kissell, died January 16, 2014. Lorraine is survived by her loving family; three daughters Mary Zalewski of Salem, Joan Kissell of Brighton, and Paula Brunell and her husband William of Worcester. Lorraine was the proud grandmother to Michaela, Emily, and William Brunell, Shelby Suarez, Corey Zalewski, and Ana Agan, and also leaves two great grandchildren, her sister Louise Keith, and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother Paul Drolet. Lorraine was born in South Grafton, daughter of the late George and Mary (Benoit) Drolet and lived in Worcester most of her life. She was a graduate of Grafton High School and attended and graduated from the Saint Vincent Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1951. She worked as a private duty nurse at several Worcester hospitals. She stopped working in 1961 to raise her family. Lorraine was a long time member of the Church of Our Lady of Vilna and also the Church of St. Anne's in Shrewsbury where she and her husband Bill were very active. She enjoyed being at the ocean and sailed to Bermuda eight times. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors , sewing, and listening to music, however, her most treasured times were those she spent with her family. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Her family would like to thank the staff at the Millbury Healthcare Center for the kind and compassionate care shown to both their parents during their stay there. It was truly appreciated. Lorraine's funeral will be held on Wednesday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in the Church of St Anne, 130 Boston Turnpike Shrewsbury, MA. Visiting hours with the family will be held on Tuesday from 4PM to 7PM in the funeral home. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Mausoleum.
