Gloria (Acquaro) Rovezzi, died peacefully in South Florida on Friday, November 14, 2014. Her husband, William "Coogan" Rovezzi, predeceased her in 2005. Gloria is survived by two sons, Peter and his wife Lisa of Oxford and James and his wife Narcissa of Boynton Beach, FL; two sisters, Theresa DePari and her husband Sal and Jennie Jones all of Worcester. Grandchildren, Narci, Jimmy, Carla, Vinny, & Anthony and great grandchildren, Marcus & Amelia; many nieces and nephews, she adored all of them. She also leaves her best friend and former daughter in law, Christine Rovezzi of Worcester. Three sisters Helen Acquaro, Filomena Putes & Carmella Casso and 2 brothers Ralph Acquaro & Frank Acquaro predeceased her. Gloria was born in Worcester, daughter of Antonio & MariaGrazia (Albanese) Acquaro and lived here her entire life wintering in S. Fla. She was a life member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-Saint Ann Church and a member of their Golden Years club; Tuesday was her favorite day. Gloria loved God and lived a faith filled life. She enjoyed sports, socializing with others and her Italian heritage. She worked several jobs including many years at Leo's Ristorante. She worked at Norton Company as a crane operator in her early twenties and was an avid swimmer and softball player in her youth. Gloria loved people and loved listening to others and took great interest in their lives. She was generous and kind to all who were fortunate enough to meet her. The family would like to thank the special people on the fourth floor at the Jewish Healthcare Center. Their kindness, compassion and smiles, will long be remembered. Calling Hours will be held on Friday, November 21, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, November 22, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester. The family requests that you please omit flowers.
