Marie E Gallo

Marie E. (Rohde) Gallo, 101, of Vero Beach Florida, formerly of Worcester passed away peacefully at home Wednesday October 29th 2014 with her family gathered by her bedside. Marie a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother was born January 12th 1913 in Worcester, the daughter of Paul and Elizabeth (Bransfield) Rohde, a direct descendant of Sir Edward Bransfield. She was educated in Worcester, married to her husband Albert P. Gallo, former President of Gallo Motor Center Corp. Together they settled and lived in Worcester to raise their three children. Albert passed away in 1998. She continued to live in Vero Beach until returning to Worcester for care. Marie is survived by her children; Eliese M. Gallo of Lynnfield, Nancy E. Gallo of Worcester and Paul N. Gallo of Holden and Vero Beach Florida; a granddaughter Nichole Moody and great granddaughter Hollis; A sister in law, Pierrina Rohde and nephew Paul Rohde; A brother, Paul Rohde pre deceased her. Marie was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church. A stay at home mom, dedicated to her husband, children and grandchildren. The greatest moments in Marie's life were with her family and watching them grow and succeed. She would help anyone who asked and did everything she could for anyone. Marie was a blend of strength, that came from her German heritage and her humor and wit that came from her Irish background. She will be greatly missed. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Sunday, November 2nd from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Monday, November 3rd from the funeral home with a celebration of life Mass at 10:00 am Monday in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Entombment will follow next to her husband in St John Mausoleum.
