Julia (Verdini) Ferri, 84, of Tamarac, Florida, formerly of Worcester and Framingham, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2014 in Florida. Her husband, Eugene "Jim" Ferri, predeceased her. Julia is survived by a sister, Mary Pratt of Worcester; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by four brothers and three sisters, Arthur, Carroll, Reno and Raymond Verdini, Eva Pollisack, Irene Lacontore and Dorothy Glenn. Julia was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, Henry and Ida (Dellasanta) Verdini. Julia grew up in Worcester, and had worked for the former Green and Heyward Insurance Company. She married her love, "Jim" on November 26, 1964, and they lived in both Framingham and Tamarac, Florida; until Jim's death, when Julia moved to Florida on a permanent basis. Julia's family would like to thank her caregivers in Florida, who were amazing and really considered a part of her familyShawn and Grace will long be remembered as selfless caregivers, who made a wonderful impact and improved the quality of Julia's life. Calling hours and Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 24, with Calling Hours from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester; followed by a procession to church for a Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
