Joan F. (Dacey) Pace, 80 of Boylston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at UMass Hospital: Memorial Campus surrounded by her devoted family. Joan is survived by her loving husband of fifty nine years, Vincent S. Pace; four daughters, Patricia Ferrara of Worcester, Kathleen J. Beshai and her husband James of West Boylston, Maria Pace of Boylston, Maureen Spaulding and her husband Gary of Berlin; her son, Vincent A. Pace of Boylston; seven beloved grandchildren, Jennifer, Kevin, Joseph, Nicole, Shannon, Jordynn and Rylee; a brother, Timothy Dacey, Jr. and his wife Marie of Spencer; two sisters-in-law, Vera Novick and Shirley Pace both of Worcester; several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by two sisters, Mary Billings and Patricia Hersom. Joan was born in Framingham, a daughter of the late Timothy and Beatrice (O'Halloran) Dacey. As a child, she moved to Worcester, where she attended Commerce High School. She married Vincent and they made Boylston their home for over fifty years. Joan will be remembered for her quiet strength, sense of humor and the loving care she provided to all her children and grandchildren. Services for Joan will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2014 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A period of calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 15th from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home.
