Teresa "Sis" (DeLuca) Bucciaglia

Teresa R. "Sis" (DeLuca) Bucciaglia, 100, of Worcester died peacefully Friday October 10, 2014 in the Christopher House surrounded by her loved ones. Her husband Albert J. Bucciaglia Sr. died in 1992. "Sis" leaves her loving family; two son's Albert J. Bucciaglia Jr. and his wife Mary Ann, and Antone Bucciaglia and his wife Janice all of Worcester. "Sis" was the doting grandmother to Mary Beth, Steven, Tara, Kimberly, Jody and John, and great grandchildren, Steven, Olivia, Anna, Mallory, Patrick, Amelia, Ava, and Mila. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, among them, Rita, Joanna, Joseph, Ginger, and Sean. She was predeceased by a niece Peggy Libby. Teresa was born in Worcester daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Donovan) DeLuca and lived here all her life. She attended Worcester Schools. In her younger years "Sis" was an Elevator Operator at the former Bancroft Hotel. After her children were born she enjoyed being home with her kids and being a home maker. She was a life member of the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann, and was also a member of their Golden Years Club. "Sis" was also a long time devotee of the San Vitaliano Society, and a member of the Mt. Carmel Apartment Association. "Sis" had a zest for life and loved dining out with her friends and family. She was a great cook and enjoyed the Holidays with her family. "Sis" was an avid walker and walked every day up until very recently. She loved living at 50 Shrewsbury St with all her lifetime friends and was always there to help anyone in the building. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at the Christopher House, Belmont Unit for their kindness and compassion shown to "Sis" and her family during her stay there. Teresa's funeral will be held Thursday October 16, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM in the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St. Ann 24 Mulberry St. Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday evening from 5PM to 7PM. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery with her husband. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Renovation Fund of the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St. Ann, at the above address.
