Dora A. (DiFilippo) Omilanowicz, 94, of Worcester, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, in St. Mary's Healthcare Center. She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Nicodemus F. Omilanowicz in May 2014. She is also predeceased by her two brothers, James DiFilippo, her twin brother, Francis DiFilippo, and three sisters, Mary Eager, Laura Monfreda, and Mildred Stankevicus. She is survived by her two children: a son, N. Francis James of Adelphi, Maryland; and a daughter, Dorothy A. Omilanowicz and her life partner Sherrie L. Stevens of Barre, Massachusetts. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Jordan H. and Ryley A. Newcomb; and many nieces and nephews. Dora was born on July 5, 1920, the daughter of Frank and Elvira DiFilippo in Worcester, Massachusetts. She attended Commerce High School and graduated with honors in three and one-half years. Dora worked for Henry L. Hanson Tool Company for many years until she married and became a full time homemaker and mother. She attended the former Our Lady of Fatima Church. Dora was best known for her love of family, friends, and generous spirit. The family would like to thank the nursing staff and caregivers at St. Mary's Health Care for their wonderful care, support, and stay there during the past nine months. Family and friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday morning, October 10, 2014 from 10-11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., all occurring in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Planation Street, Worcester, Massachusetts.
