Rose Galfand

Rose (Nemerov) Galfand, 97 died Sunday, Oct.4th in the Jewish Healthcare Center. Her husband of 58 years, Sidney Galfand died in 1998. She leaves two daughters, Phyllis Jaffee and her husband Barry and Louise Pasternack, a sister, Marion Sanders, four grandchildren, Ariel Jaffee, Joanne Pasternack Bardin, Laura and Daniel Pasternack, and two great grandchildren, Kira and Reid Bardin. She also leaves her dearest friends whom she considered family, Tanya, Michael, David and Simon Rozas. She was predeceased by a brother Sheldon "Sol "Nemerov and a sister Frances Fox. She was born in Philadelphia a daughter of Joseph and Sarah (Guralnick) Nemerov. Before her retirement she was the executive assistant to the director of the Lower Marion Public Libraries. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at the Jewish Healthcare Center for the loving care they gave Rose over the last six years. The GRAVESIDE FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 1 PM tomorrow, Tuesday Oct. 7th in Beit Olam East Cemetery in Wayland. Memorial observance will be held at the residence of Barry and Phyllis Jaffee on Tuesday and Wednesday from 5 PM to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers the family wishes for contributions in Rose's memory can be made to the Jewish Healthcare Center, 629 Salisbury St., Worcester, MA 01609.
