Vera A. (Capalbo) Belsito, 94 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 2, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Vera was born in Worcester on December 21, 1919, a beloved daughter of Nicola and Rose (Ritacco) Capalbo and has lived in Worcester all her life. Vera and her husband Domenic owned and operated Belsito's Market for over thirty years, retiring in 1981. Vera is survived by her two granddaughters, Lisa M. Johnson and her husband Douglas of Tampa, FL and Susan J. Martin and her husband Craig of Sterling; three adored great grandchildren, Lindsay and Zachary Johnson and Craig "CJ" Martin, Jr; a sister-in-law, Jane Capalbo of Millbury, as well as many cherished extended family members and dear friends. Vera's husband of fifty-six years, Domenic F. Belsito passed away in 1997. She is also predeceased by her daughter, Rosann M. Phelps; her sister, Vita Capalbo and six brothers, George, Domenic, Angelo, Leo, Charles and Joseph Capalbo. Vera enjoyed cooking, especially for Sunday dinners with her family. Spending time with her family and friends is what she always looked forward to each day. Her great grandchildren were the light of her life and always put a smile on her face. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family on Monday, October 6, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Her funeral service will he held on Tuesday, October 7th at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial next to her husband will follow in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester.
