Anthony P. "Tony" Ferrazano, 92, of Worcester died peacefully Tuesday September 2, 2014 in the St. Francis Home surrounded by his loved ones. Tony is survived by his brother in law William A. Gagnon and nephews William J. Gagnon and David M. Lamusta with whom he lived, and sisters in law Joanne Ferrazano, and Kamoa Ferris. He also leaves many nephews, and nieces, among them Thomas Ferrazano. He was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph Ferris, Ernest and Thomas Ferrazano, and four sisters Anna Iozza, Phyllis Gagnon, Mary David, and Rose Sullivan. Anthony was born in Worcester son of the late Thomas and Theresa (Iacovone) Ferrazzano and lived here all his life. He was a graduate of Commerce High School, and Clark University. He was an Army veteran serving in the Normandy Invasion at D Day in Northern France and Rhineland Theatre. He also played in the Army Band. Tony was a Worcester Police Officer in the Traffic Division for many years before he retired. Tony was a long time member of the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann, and the Local Musicians Union #143. He was a great story teller, and enjoyed working in his garden. His real passion though was music. He played the Sax, Organ, Flute, Drums and Clarinet. He was the Leader of the Tony Ferris Orchestra for many years . They played many nightclubs along the East Coast. He was a great guy who will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Anthony's funeral will be held Tuesday September 9, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4PM to 7PM in the funeral home. Interment will be in the family lot in St. Johns Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Renovation fund of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church 24 Mulberry St. Worcester MA.01604.
