John E. Denardo, 87, of Worcester, president and owner of Denardo Wire and Cable Inc. in Fitchburg, passed away Friday, August 29, at Rose Monahan Hospice Home. Born in Waterbury, Conn., John was one of three sons of John and Christine (Stavola) Denardo. He graduated from Waterbury High School, and earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Clark University. His many activities at Clark included service as junior class president and membership in the honor society. In 1979, John founded Denardo Wire and Cable, a custom design and manufacturer of electrical cables. The firm is an industry leader in the medical, power and utility, geophysical, computer, and electronic instrumentation markets. John is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jeanne (Lussier) Denardo; his daughters, Lisa Tingue of Worcester and Nancy Denardo of Southboro; three grandchildren, Charles, Elizabeth and Julia; a brother, Richard Denardo, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Pat Denardo. A longtime member of Immaculate Conception Parish, his interests included sports, bridge and music. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Monday, Sept. 1, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St, Worcester. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Parish, 353 Grove Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
