Paul "Duke" Foley

Paul J. "Duke" Foley, 83, of Worcester passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Worcester Health Center surrounded by his devoted family. Paul was born in Worcester; son of the late James and Mary (Macaree) Foley. He grew up on Vernon Hill, graduated from Commerce High School and joined the U.S. Army serving his country proudly during the Korean War. Upon returning home, Paul worked at several companies including Wyman-Gordon, and as a bartender before accepting a position as a Worcester School Department bus driver for the Laidlaw Company for over 20 years before retiring. Paul's wife of 20 years, Katherine "Kitty" (Armenti) Foley, passed away in 2006. He is survived by his children, Angela Favulli and her husband Steven; Sean F. Foley, James P. Foley, Karen A. Peterson, Susan M. Bousquet, and Jean Foley Revelli; several grandchildren including, Stephanie Nordahl and her husband Erik, Steven Favulli, Jr and his wife Lauren, Jennifer Favulli and her fiancée Ignacio Arguello; six great grandchildren, Hannah, Emma, Erik, Julia, Adrian, and Maria; nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. A son, Kevin P. Foley and sister, Ruth Daly, predeceased him. Paul was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church, the Vernon Hill Post American Legion, the Chapter #4 Disabled American Veterans Post and the Teamster Union, Local 170. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Thursday, August 28th from 5 pm to 8 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral will be held Friday, August 29th from the funeral home with a Mass celebrated at 10:30 am in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St. Burial with military honors will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
