Louise Marie (Santoro) Ferro, 90, of Worcester passed away peacefully Monday August 25th surrounded by her family after a period of declining health. Louise was born in Worcester, one of six children of Italian immigrants Ralph and Palma (Montante) Santoro. She grew up in Worcester, met and married Anthony Ferro, Sr. spending the next 49 years happily married raising her family until Anthony passed away in October of 2000. She has lived here in Worcester all her life. Louise is survived by four generations of her family; her three devoted sons, Anthony Ferro Jr. and his wife Henrietta of Grand Junction, Colorado, Ralph Ferro and his wife Laura of Spencer, and Carmen Ferro in Connecticut; A sister she treasured, Lorraine Pratillo and her husband James; six grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Besides her husband Anthony, She joins in heaven, her son Ronald R. Smith who passed away last year, brothers, Domenic and Charles Santoro, Sr., and sisters, Millie Alfego, Mary Constanzo. Louise was a member of the First Assembly of God Church where her faith was very special to her. She was a traditional Italian mother, who cherished the ability to care for her family and dedicated to their wellbeing. She was a wonderful cook, where dinners, holidays and special celebrations were very special to her and her family. Nobody left her home hungry. Louise had a gift of encouragement, and a loving spirit that reached out to others with compassion when she sensed someone was hurting or needed a tender touch. She always found something to compliment people on and had a way of getting a whole room of people talking and laughing with one another. Funeral services and burial in St John's Cemetery next to her husband are private.
