Domenico Toscano, 77, of Worcester died peacefully Saturday August 23, 2014 in St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by his loving family after a battle with lung cancer. Domenico is survived by his wife of 47 years, Guiseppina (Monfrinato) Toscano, his loving children; Dino Toscano and his wife Lisa, Steven Toscano, Lisa Novia, all of Worcester, and Franca Michelson and her husband Patrick of Millbury. Domenico also leaves his Sister Frances "Franca" Kirwin and her husband Michael, two brothers, Alfredo Toscano and his wife Beverly, and Mario Toscano and his wife Donna all of Worcester. A sister in law Bomina Toscano of Calabria Italy. Domenico was the loving Nanutz to Tyler, Giana, Aaron, Matthew, and Patrick. He also leaves many nephews, nieces ,and great nephews and great nieces. He was predeceased by a brother Antonio Toscano of Calabria. Domenico was born in Acri, Provencia di Cosenza, Italy son of the late Michaelangelo and Rosalia (Ariosto) Toscano and came to the United States in 1968. He served four years in the Italian Military. Domenico worked in the construction business for many years before he retired. He worked for the Anthony Ferigno Construction Company, and also the F&G Construction Company. He also worked at the Grafton Flea Market for many years. Domenico was a long time member of the Church of Our Lady of Loreto. He loved watching the Red Sox, and enjoyed working in his garden. Although his most treasured times were those spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Worcester Medical Center, St. Vincents Hospital, and their Cancer and Wellness Center for all the care and compassion shown to Domenico and his family. Domenico's funeral will be held on Thursday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in the Church of Our Lady of Loreto 33 Massasoit Rd. Calling hours will be held from 4:00PM to 7:00PM on Wednesday. Interment will be in St John's Cemetery.
