John C. Blunt also known as "Chief Open Heart", 51, of Auburn, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 in Maine. John is survived by his best friend and loving wife, Kathleen D. (Armacost) Blunt; two sons, Johnny E. Leveille and his wife Tanya of Auburn and Robby D. Leveille III of Berlin; a brother, John "Randy" Blunt and his wife Peggy of Richmond, VA; three sisters, Barbara L. Leskowitz of Leominster, Cathleen J. Van Stralen and her husband Ron of Florida and Marjorie Fox of Virginia; his best friend of many years, Bobby Albers of West Haven, CT. John is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Jenna, Justin, and Nathan; many nieces and nephews including, Jenna, Bryan, Corrine, Dacia, Mark, Niki, and Shawn. John was born in West Chester, Pennsylvania, son of the late, John C. and Olive A. (Clark) Blunt. John was a truck driver for Aggregate Industries and was a member of the Teamsters, Local 170. He enjoyed creating stained glass pieces. He loved anything outdoors, including boating, fishing, and camping. He was a fixture at Sober in the Sun for many years, where his heart and soul are woven into the fabric of not only the festival but of Treasure Valley as a whole. He was a mentor, a friend, and a gift to all that knew him. He was also active in many Native American activities and was Chief of the White Buffalo Clan.
