Louise M. (Massad) Kalil, 89, of Millbury, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, in the Ichabod Washburn Hospice Residence, surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of thirty-nine years, Raymond Kalil, predeceased her in January 1991. Louise is survived by her son, Paul Kalil and his wife Marybeth of Millbury; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, John Kalil and by her siblings, Robert Massad, Loretta Hyson, Eugenia Naimey, Theresa Hilow, Emily Rezuke, and Edmund Massad. Louise was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Anthony and Adele (Mezhir) Massad. She graduated from Worcester Classical High School and attended Leicester Junior College and Quinsigamond Community College. She lived many years in Worcester, before moving to Shrewsbury, and in 2000 settling in Millbury. Louise was a Social Worker for the City of Worcester for many years, later becoming Director of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program at the Age Center of Worcester. She was honored by The Mayor at her retirement with a Key to The City of Worcester, for her many years of dedication to The City and its residents. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, where she was very active in Parish Life. She took part in the WISE Program at Assumption College and loved traveling. She will be remembered as a loving, caring person, who enjoyed helping others. Calling hours will be held Tonight, Friday, August 15, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, August 16, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 256 Hamilton Street, Worcester (please go directly to church). Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
