Richard D. Patterson

Richard D. Patterson, Jr., 54, of Auburn, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 26, 2014 in Nashville, Tennessee. Richard is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Lizbeth F. (Hale) Patterson; two daughters, Chloe H. and Hannah H. Patterson, both of Auburn; several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his two sisters, Jean Horgan and Kathryn Patterson. Richard was born in Worcester, the son of the late Richard D. and Kathryn R. (Reilley) Patterson. He graduated from St. Peter Marian High School and has lived in both Worcester and Auburn most of his life. Richard was co-owner of Auburn Industrial Insulation, Inc. and was employed as a sales representative for General Insulation Company Inc. at the time of his death. He was involved in Auburn Youth Basketball and was a member of the Joel H. Prouty Masonic Lodge in Auburn. A period of calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 10:00 am- 12:00 noon in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will be private.
