Yvonne M. McMillan-Johnson, 59 of Worcester, passed peacefully Thursday, July 31st 2014 with her family gathered beside her. Yvonne was born in Fort Pierce, Florida, a daughter of the late, Earl McMillan Sr. and Daisy (Wallace) McMillan. She grew up in Florida and moved to Worcester over 28 years ago. Yvonne accepted a position as a toll collector for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority 18 years ago, rising up through the ranks to her present position as Senior Toll Collector and Shift supervisor for Exit 9, Sturbridge interchange. Yvonne is survived by the two daughters she cherished, Queshanda Carree of Melbourne, Florida and Courtney Johnson of Worcester; the light of her life and granddaughter, Christianna Vinton-Carree; four siblings, Earlene Shepherd of Melbourne, Earl McMillan, Jr. of Rochester NY, Pastor Gregory McMillan of Atlanta, GA., and Linda McMillan-Clemmons of Palm Bay, Florida; her former husband David Johnson; her loving and devoted friend for many years, Sandra Fleuran; Nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Yvonne was a member of the Christ Tabernacle Church. A hard working, fun loving, compassionate and independent women, who cherished her family, her work and the employees under her care. She loved her work and nothing made her prouder than being with her family. She will be missed. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Thursday, August 7th from 4:00 pm to 6:00pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her memorial service will follow at 6:00pm. Funeral service and burial will be in Melbourne, Florida. In lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be made to the Christianna Vinton-Carree Educational Fund, care of Courtney Johnson.
