Pantaleo A. DiGioia, 80 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 28, 2014 at UMass Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Pantaleo is survived by his longtime companion, Sharon Sierra; a daughter, Linda Grenache of Holden; five sons, James DiGioia of California, Bruce DiGioia of Connecticut, Jessie DiGioia and Pantaleo DiGioia Goodwin both of Worcester and Christopher Calderon DiGioia of Lowell; several other children in the Central Mass Area; seventeen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his son, Michael V. DiGioia who died in 2010. Pantaleo was born in Worcester, the son of the late Victor M. and Natalena (Bargnesi) DiGioia and has lived here all his life. He worked as an insurance agent for John Hancock for over twenty five years before his retirement and also worked as a real estate agent for Century 21 for many years. Pantaleo was the former owner of the Kenmore Diner. He was a wholesaler and sold new goods at both the Grafton and Auburn Flea Markets. He loved to play bingo. A period of calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with his memorial service immediately following at 7 p.m. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
