Flutra Ciu

Flutra (Toto) Ciu, 85 of Worcester, formerly of Albania passed away peacefully Monday July 28, 2014 with devoted family gathered at her bedside. Flutra was born in Tirana, Albania, a daughter of Ismet and Envere Toto. She grew up in Albania, earned her degree in accounting and lived there until immigrating to the United States after retirement, 15 years ago. Flutra's husband Kasem Ciu passed away in 1981. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Linda Ciu and her husband Agron Afezolli with whom she lived; a granddaughter she cherished Debora Afezolli; her sister, Vera Hoxha in Albania; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends both here and in Albania. Flutra worked many years as a Chief accountant in Albania before retiring. Flutra was a lively, optimistic, and energetic women, who cherished her heritage, enjoyed life, her family, people and her many friends. She was courageous, generous and a great women of sacrifice. Nothing made her prouder that being with her daughter and granddaughter. They were here life's enjoyment. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family during calling hours, Saturday, August 2nd from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. A funeral service will follow at 1 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Albania next to her husband.
