Joanne F. (Leto) Fallstrom, 60 of Worcester passed away peacefully surrounded by family July 16th 2014, after a courageous and valiant battle with cancer. Joanne was born in Worcester a daughter of Joseph and Helen (Teso) Leto. She grew up in Worcester, graduated from North High School class of 1971 and has lived here all her life. In 1988, Joanne married David R. Fallstrom, the man she would spend the next 27 years happily married. She is survived by the family she cherished and had such pride, Her husband David; children, Jeffrey Duclos and his wife Kristen of Worcester, Melissa J. (Duclos) Belsito and her husband Albert of Sutton; Six grandchildren, Hayley and Jeffrey Duclos, Lily Belsito, Audrey Duclos, Chloe Belsito, and Sophia Belsito. Joanne also leaves her brothers, Joseph Leto and his wife Nancy of West Boylston, Michael Leto and his wife Carol of Worcester; sisters, Helen Leto, Camille Leto and Rose Ellen Godin and her husband Major Stephen Godin all of Worcester; A sister in law, Kathleen Leto of Worcester; her mother in law, Eileen (Kennedy) Fallstrom; many nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. Joanne was predeceased by a son Jamie Duclos in 1973 and a brother, Anthony ''Tony" Leto in 2004. Joanne worked as a Deli Clerk for many years at the Price Chopper Market on Sunderland Rd. before she retired. She was a life member of St. Stephen's Church. She loved to cook, read, and a good game of Softball. However her most treasured times were those spent with her family especially her grandchildren. She was so proud of all her grandchildren they were her passion. Joanne loved the simple, quiet life; she was so courageous during her battle with her illness, she never asked why me and always thought of others before herself. She was so strong through her entire ordeal. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Sunday, July 20th from 3 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Monday July 21st from the funeral home with a Celebration of her Life Mass at 10:00 am in St Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton St. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions made to the Umass-Memorial Foundation, Pancreatic Cancer Fund, 333 South Street, Shrewsbury 01545. The family would like to thank Dr. Venu Bathini, the Umass-Memorial Oncology Department; her Nurses Faith and Andrea for all their wonderful care and dedication to Joanne. They would also like to thank Deacon Paul Dacri, her brother in law for the care, constant compassion and prayers they shared.
