Margaret M. Kent

Margaret M. "Peggy" (Tangney) Kent, 80 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Beaumont Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with cancer. Peggy is survived by her son, Brian D. Kent of Charlton; three daughters, Susan A. Finneran of Dudley, Sandra L. Kent of Worcester and Margaret M. "Peggy" Downing and her husband Shane of Brooklyn, CT; six grandchildren, Christopher and Kimberly Finneran, Ashley and Brian Kent, Taylor and Connor Downing; four great grandchildren, Kaydin and Kamdin Le, Lexi and Lacey Plucinski. Her son Michael C. Kent predeceased her in 1984. Peggy was born in County Kerry Tralee, Ireland to Michael and Anna (O'Connor) Tangney. She immigrated from Ireland to Worcester in 1952 at the age of eighteen where she began working for Iandoli's Supermarket. She also worked as a secretary for Wilfred Academy and Small Business Service Bureau. Peggy was an amazing mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family. She enjoyed reading, shopping and playing bingo. Peggy's funeral service will be held privately. MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.
