Mary A. (Gentile) Riordan, 83, of Worcester, died peacefully Friday, July 4, 2014 in Saint Vincent Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Denis Riordan. Mary is survived by two sons, Robert Bernard and his wife Dianne of Worcester and Dale Bernard of Worcester; two daughters, Denise Ingerman and her husband Robert of Plainview, NY and Diane Dwyer and her husband Bruce of Cherry Valley; fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and was expecting her first great- great- grandchild; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a son, R. Paul Bernard who died December 2, 2006; five brothers and two sisters. Mary was born in Worcester on December 15, 1930 and was preceded in death by her father Giovanni Gentile and her mother Mari V. (Tanzi) Gentile. She was a graduate of Commerce High School and has lived in Worcester all her life. Mary was devoted to her catholic faith; she was a communicant of and Eucharistic Minister for Immaculate Conception Church. She enjoyed spending time with family, her beloved dog, Candy, and playing Bingo. Family, friends and others whose lives Mary touched are invited to MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2014. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8th in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove Street, Worcester. Mary will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
