Georgiana C. Ridick, 71 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 27, 2014 at Saint Vincent's Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Georgiana is survived by her two brothers, Rev. Fr. George J. Ridick, III and James G. Ridick and his wife Nancy; a nephew, Timothy J. Ridick and his wife Erin; two nieces, Kathryn A. and Kristin M. Ridick; a great nephew and great niece, Shea and Morgan Ridick, all of Worcester. Georgiana was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late George J. Ridick, Jr. and Angela C. (Bender) Ridick. She graduated from Saint Stephen's High School and later received her Bachelor's and Master's Degree from Worcester State College. Georgiana worked as a teacher for over forty years for various schools, in particular, Rice Square Elementary School, retiring in 2003. After her retirement, she worked part-time for Lincoln Street School in Northborough for the past several years. Georgiana was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, the Massachusetts Teachers Association, the Education Association of Worcester, and the National Education Association. She enjoyed spending time at her vacation home in Narragansett, RI, social gatherings with family and friends, shows at the Hanover Theater and was an avid Neil Diamond fan, attending many of his concerts. Services for Georgiana will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Stephens' Church, 357 Grafton St., Worcester. Entombment will follow in Saint John's Mausoleum, Worcester. Friends and family are invited to a period of visitation on Monday, June 30th from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home.
