Lena (Arello) Crowder, 90,of Worcester died peacefully Tuesday June 24,2014 in the Beaumont of Worcester surrounded by her loving family. Lena is survived by her daughter Barbara Daley and her husband Gerald of Worcester, two sons, Anthony Ferro and his wife Dee of Selma California, Ronald Crowder and his wife Terri of Orlando Florida. Lena also leaves six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren, three sisters Santa Miller of Lacey Washington, Mary Ducharme and her husband Donald and Connie Paquette all of Worcester, many nephews and nieces. Lena was predeceased by a son Raymond Crowder, two grandsons, Jeffrey and James Collins, three sisters Ann Nigro, Rose Laraia, Lucy Campanile, and a brother Benjamin Arello and his wife Rose. Lena was born in Worcester daughter of the late Sebastiano and Pauline (Valvo) Arello and lived here all her life. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. Lena worked at St. Vincent's Hospital, Telechron, and G. E. and retired from the Timex Company in Ashland. She was a long time member of the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann. Lena loved to cook,and bake, but most of all be with her family. She was a selfless person with a heart of gold always ready to help anyone in need. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank the Beaumont of Worcester, especially the Lincoln Neighborhood and Salmon Hospice for their kindness and compassion shown to Lena and her family over the last eight years of her stay there. She thought of them as her second family. Lena's funeral will be held Saturday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 AM in the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann 24 Mulberry St. A calling hour with the family will be held from 8:30AM to 10:00AM prior to leaving for Church. Entombment will be in St. John's Mausoleum.
