Dorothy E. Catino

Dorothy E. (Childs) Catino, 95, of Worcester died peacefully Thursday June 19, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. Her husband Joseph Catino died in 1997. Dorothy is survived by her children; a daughter Sharon Catino with whom she lived, four sons; Joseph A. Catino Jr. and his wife Grace of Discovery Bay CA. Michael J. Catino of Millbury, Robert R. Catino and his wife Carol of Auburn and Ronald D. Catino and his wife Letty of Las Vegas. Dorothy also leaves a daughter in law Sharon Catino, and was the grandmother to Christopher, Jessie, Tori, AnnMarie, Dennis, Lauri, William, Carrie,and James Kennedy, and sister to Laura Dodge. She also leaves 15 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews and brother and sister in laws. She was predeceased by a son Dennis Catino of Webster, two brothers Stanley and James Childs and a sister Helen Ciccone. Dorothy was born in Williamsburg Massachusetts daughter of the late Frank and Lida (Canfield) Childs and came to the Worcester area many years ago. She enjoyed being a home maker. In her younger years she worked at Smith College. Dorothy and her husband were long time members of the Family Motor Coach Association, and they loved to travel, and spent many winters in their Florida home. She liked to cook but most of all she enjoyed being with her family, especially the grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Dorothy s funeral will be held Tuesday June 24, with a service in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. at 10:30AM. Calling hours will be held from 9AM to 10:30AM prior to the service.
