Francesco J. "Frank" Chionchio

Francesco J. "Frank" Chionchio Sr.77, of Worcester passed away peacefully Tuesday June 17, 2014 in the UMASS Medical Center surrounded by the love and support of his family. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Isabella "Bella" (DeNicola) Chionchio, his daughter Sherry Kozerski, his son Frank Chionchio Jr. and his wife Cathy. Frank was the proud grandfather to Adam, Kalha, Luke, Carmela, Matthew, Nicole, and Gina. He also leaves two brothers, Antonio Chionchio and his wife Elizabeth of Maine, and Michale Chionchio of Italy and two sisters Albina and Raffaela also in Italy. And several nephews and nieces. Francesco was born in Vieste, Provencia di Foggia, Italy, son of the late Matteo and Maddelena (Grima) Chionchio and came to the United States when he was 21 years old. Francesco worked at the Table Talk Pie Company as a supervisor for many years, and then later at the Worcester State Hospital and for the Town of Shrewsbury. He was a long time member of the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann. Frank enjoyed his trips to Cape Cod, gardening, and baseball. However nothing compared to the pride and passion and love he had for his children, grandchildren, and family. He will be greatly missed and forever cherished. Francesco's funeral will be held on Friday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM in the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann 24 Mulberry St. A period of visitation will be held from 9AM to 10:30AMon Friday prior to the Mass. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
