John S. Ostaszewski, 86, of Boylston, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2014, in Auburn Life Care Center. He is survived by a brother, Stanley J. Ostaszewski of Worcester; a sister, Irene Kowaleski of Paxton; his companion, Bernice Dolan of Worcester; many nieces and nephew, including Paula Marengo and her husband Raymond of Boylston and Peter Tamulis, Jr. of Worcester. He was predeceased by three sisters, Victoria B. Tamulis, Alice T. Ostaszewski and Alfreda Lindloff. John was born in Worcester, son of the late, Ignac J. and Blanche M. (Dyjak) Ostaszewski. John served his nation proudly in the United States Army. He worked for several companies in the Worcester area, before he retired from Phalo Plastics. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday morning, June 11, from 8:30 a.m. until 9:45 a.m., in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester.
