Lillian S. (Heino) Courville, 82, of Fitchburg, formerly of Worcester, passed away at home on Saturday May 24, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of twenty-seven years, Joseph N. Courville, predeceased her in 1982. Lillian is survived by a son, Stephen J. Courville and his wife Nancy of Sutton; two daughters, Linda J. Belmonte and her husband Mark of Londonderry, NH and Carol Ann Brigley and her husband James; seven grandchildren, Pamela, Christina, Kevin, Brad, Nicole, Jessica and Lucas; five great grandchildren, Cailin, Declan, Jonah, Kaelyn and Gunnar; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters, Allan and Walter Heino, Helen Haavisto, Ingrid McIntire, Aune Denison and Shirley Smith. Lillian was born in Harrison, Maine, daughter of the late Esko and Linnea (Lammi) Heino. She grew up in Maine and graduated from South Paris High School. She later moved to Worcester, where she and her husband lived for many years on Grafton Hill, raising their family. Lillian graduated from Becker College and worked as medical secretary for over twenty years at Worcester Radiology. She had also worked as a secretary for the Girls Club of Worcester, before she retired. She was a member of Saint Stephen's Church. She enjoyed wintering in Florida, playing golf, bridge and Scrabble. The greatest joy she found was spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the loves of her life. A Calling Hour, where relatives and friends will gather together will be held on Saturday, May 31, from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral Mass will follow on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. in Saint Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
