Brian James. Valk, 28 of Worcester passed away unexpectedly at home Friday, May 23rd 2014, now entering heaven with his beloved Boxer Homer. Brian was born in Worcester, graduated from Saint Stephen School and Doherty High School class of 2003. Brian then worked as an assistant at the PIP Shelter and Masterman's Company for several years before entering the electrician's program with the IEBW working towards an electrician journeyman's license. Brian loved music, accomplished in both guitar and drums. He loved drawing freehand in his sketchbook, cooking and hiking with his sister Michelle and friends. Brian is survived by his parents, James and Elaine (Parke) Valk; his best friend and sister Michelle; his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Jeanne Parke; paternal grandmother, Leona (Dupkis) Valk; uncles L. Andrew Valk and his companion Dominique Nicolay, John Parke and his wife Josefina, Aunt Sue Dembrowski; cousins Lauren Godlewski, Jacki and Danielle Dembrowski, Cameron and Dalaney Parke, Andrew and Stephanie Valk as well as many extended family and friends. Brian was predeceased by his paternal grandfather Louis Valk, his aunt Lisa (Burns) Parke, and his Boxer Homer. Calling hours are being planned for Thursday, May 29th from 5pm to 8 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral will be held Friday, May 30th from the funeral home with a Mass at 11:00 am in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street.
