Virginia M. (Winslow) Maloney, 90 of Worcester passed away peacefully Saturday May 24th 2014 with family gathered beside her. Virginia was born in Worcester, the daughter of Harry and Florence (Sherwood) Winslow. She earned her LPN certification from Fanning Trade High School. Virginia then accepted a position as a LPN for the Memorial Hospital working there for many years before becoming a LPN for the Visiting Nurse Association before retiring. Virginia is survived by her two devoted sons, Worcester Fire Department District Chief, Kevin Maloney and his wife Cheryl of Worcester; Terrance Maloney and his longtime girlfriend Patrice Cook of Sutton; a brother Harold "Harry" Winslow Jr. of Shrewsbury; five grandchildren, Melissa, Erin, Timothy, Lisa and Megan; seven great grandchildren; Many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Two brothers, Ronald and Earl Winslow and a sister, Eleanor Trainor all pre deceased her. She was a member of St. George Church. She enjoyed travel and the community senor bus trips and summers on Stiles Lake. She was a simple quiet woman who found her greatest joy with her children and grandchildren. A period of calling hours will be held Wednesday, May 28th from 9:30 am to 10:30 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. before departing to St George Catholic Church, 40 Brattle St where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery Holden.
