Jamell Lee Brown Simmons, 35, of Worcester, passed away, unexpectedly, on Wednesday, May 14, 2014. Jamell is survived by his loving fiancé, Rebecca Dymek of Leicester; two sons, Khalil Simmons and Jamell Simmons, Jr.; a daughter, Khylie Simmons; his parents, John and Gail (Brown) Simmons; three stepchildren, that adored him, Elijah, Irene and Sylah; three brothers, Amir Brown Simmons, Davon Smith, all of Worcester and Isaiah Ridges of Brooklyn; a sister, Monique Frazier of South Carolina; his life-long best friend Isaiah Hall of Worcester; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was born in Brooklyn, New York and attended schools in Worcester. Jamell was a Master Mechanic and was working at Tiz Automotive in Worcester. He was a member of Christ Tabernacle Church. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 22, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Calling Hours will be held again on Friday morning, May 23, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. in Christ Tabernacle Church, 1189 Main Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
