Jeannette M. (LaPlume) Lemerise, 79 of Millbury, formerly of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 17, 2014 in St. Vincent's Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Jeannette is survived by her son, Michael A. Lemerise and his wife Gina; her two daughters, Michelle M. Lemerise Wesson and Robin Callaghan and her husband Patrick all of Worcester; two sisters, Claire Gordish of Grafton and Elaine Goff of Oregon; five beloved grandchildren, Mandie, Darcey, Sarah, Joshua and Randi-Lynn; four great grandchildren, Jaicey, Arianna, Raelynn and Cruz; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her daughter, Christine A. Lemerise and a brother, Roger LaPlume. Jeannette was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Gerard and Jeanne (Boivin) LaPlume and graduated from St. Stephen's High School. She lived all her life in Worcester until she moved to Millbury five years ago. Jeannette worked for the Worcester Public School System for fifteen years. She was a member of Holy Family Parish and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. Jeannette loved bingo; playing cards especially pitch and in her younger years loved bowling. Services for Jeannette will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Holy Family-St. Joseph's Church, 35 Hamilton St., Worcester. Burial will be held privately and at a later date. A period of visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 20th from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home.
