Josephine (Monfreda) Locantore-Genatossio

Josephine E. (Monfreda) Locantore-Genatossio, 92, of Worcester died peacefully Tuesday May 13, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. Her husband Anthony Genatossio and her first husband Domenic Locantore both pre deceased her. Josie is survived by her daughter Susan Locantore of Sanbornton N.H. her grandchildren Jonathan and Gina Locantore,2 great grandchildren Ethan and Nicholas,and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a daughter Dolores Locantore, four brothers, Albert, Orlando,Frank and Joseph Monfreda, and four sisters; Jennie Cammuso, Connie DSimone, Nellie Monfreda, and Angie Cardinale. Josie was born in Worcester daughter of the late Nicholas and Rose (Dellfemine) Monfreda and lived here all her life. She attended Worcester Public Schools. Josie enjoyed being a Homemaker. She was a life Member of the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann. She was a member of their Golden Years Club, The Worcester Lodge #168 Sons of Italy in America, The Mt. Carmel Association, and the San Vitaliano Womens Society. Josie loved to go shopping and be with her family and many friends. She was active in the Church activities especially their Annual Christmas Fair. However her most treasured times were those spent with her family. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. at 11:30AM in the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann 24 Mulberry St. A calling hour will be held from 9:00AM to 11:00AM in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mt.
