Louise (Groccia) Ginisi, 88, a longtime Worcester resident, passed away peacefully on Holy Saturday, April 19, 2014, joining her husband and son in heaven. Louise was born in Worcester, one of ten children born to Italian immigrants Salvatore Groccia Sr and Rose (Perri) Groccia. She grew up in Worcester, attended Worcester Public Schools, leaving before finishing her education to help care for and support her large family. Louise then, in 1960, met and married Louis Ginisi. Together they began their family and enjoyed 28 love-filled years together before Louis passed away on New Year's Day 1988. She then continued to live in Worcester before her oldest son, Louis J. Ginisi, Jr. passed away in June of 2012 Louise is survived by the family that she loved so much, David J. "Gino" Ginisi and his wife Brenda of Worcester, Robert J. Ginisi and his wife Patricia of Shrewsbury; her ten grandchildren, Robert "Rocky", Joseph "Joey", Anthony, David Jr., Nicholas "Nicky", Maria, Christian, Ashley, Raychel, and Anna; two brothers, George and Jerry Groccia; two sisters, Beatrice Artuso and Delores Moroski, all of Worcester; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Five siblings, Anthony, Joseph, Ralph, and Salvatore Groccia, and a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Geldart all predeceased her. Louise was a traditional Italian mother, who placed her family before herself. She made sure they were well cared for and loved. She cherished every moment she could spend with them during holidays, family gatherings and special dinners. Nothing she treasured more than having them all around her. She enjoyed bingo, bus trips with her sisters, cooking and baking. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours, Wednesday, April 23 rd from 4pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & Chapel, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Thursday, April 24th from the funeral home with a Mass at 10:00 am in St. John Church, 44 Temple Street. Burial next to her husband will follow in St John's Cemetery.
