Jean A Londergan

Jean A. (Dalton) Londergan, 88, of Worcester and Centerville, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Her husband of sixty-three years, Edward R. Londergan, predeceased her in February 2012. Jean is survived by her loving daughters, Liz Plonski and her husband Joseph of Worcester and Ellen J. Puopolo and her husband Brian of Marstons Mills; her beloved grandchildren, Geoffrey, Andrew, Daniel and Tess; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, John Dalton. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late John E. and Olive (Costello) Dalton and has lived all her life in Worcester, but enjoyed her Summers on Cape Cod. She worked for many years as a clerk for Melville Shoe in Worcester, before leaving there to raise her family. She then worked as an Aide in the Worcester Public School Department. She had also worked as a fundraiser for the Leukemia Society. Jean had been a member of the former Saint Margaret Mary Church and was currently affiliated with Our Lady of Loreto Church. Jean loved to be surrounded by her family and friends. She will be remembered as an avid reader, and gifted storyteller with a wonderful sense of humor and a quick wit. She was also fond of travel, and for many years she travelled to her second home on Cape Cod; but also had the good fortune to have enjoyed several trips to Ireland. There are no calling hours. A Funeral Mass for Jean will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 22, at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester, MA 01604. Interment will be private.
