Albert "Al" Wooden, 89, passed away on April 15, 2014 at The Odd Fellows Home in Worcester, MA after a brief illness. He was born in Hoyt, N.B., Canada, one of eleven children, son of John and Dora (Kirkpatrick) Wooden. Al proudly served in the Canadian Army during WWII with tours in the U.K., Central Mediterranean area and Continental Europe earning the 1939-45 Star, Italy Star, France and Germany Star and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. Known around the city of Worcester for his expertise & knowledge in the auto body field, Al worked for many years at Commonwealth and Kilcoyne auto body shops, the later with whom he was with until retirement. He was a very compassionate person helping many individuals throughout his travels in life. In his early days he enjoyed racing stock cars and living life to the limit. Later in life he enjoyed walking, socializing, scratching his lottery tickets and spending time with family. He leaves behind two daughters, Carmen Pinto and her husband Joseph with whom he lived with in Auburn and Dena Wooden also of Auburn; two grandsons, Carl and Samual Wooden and three great grandchildren. He also leaves behind three sisters, Eva Ogden, Doris Rice and Dorothy Tower all of N.B., Canada. He will be sadly missed by all.
