Pearl M. (Banks) Curran, 92 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. Pearl's husband of twenty-two years, Joseph J. Curran, passed away on August 20, 1967. She is survived by her son, Wayne J. Curran and his wife Linda of Worcester, with whom she lived; her daughter, Donna J. McGoldrick and her husband Kenneth, Jr. of Shrewsbury; a sister, June Lazar of Worcester; three grandchildren, Kenneth McGoldrick, III, Kimberly Pluck and Joseph Curran; two great grandchildren, McKenzie McGoldrick and Madison Pluck; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by three sisters, Ruth Ferrantino, Gertrude Berglund and Barbara Costello; and her longtime companion, Dominic "Lefty" Salvati. Pearl was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Frederick and Blanche (Gaulin) Banks and had lived here most of her life. She worked as a sales associate for Shack's Fine Clothing for over twenty five years before she retired. She previously worked for the former Stork Shop and R.H. White's. Pearl was a member of the former St. Margaret Mary's Church. She loved going to the beach, but her greatest enjoyment was being with family, especially her grandchildren. Services for Pearl will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Saint John's Church, 40 Temple St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Saint John's Cemetery. A period of calling hours will be held on Monday, April 7th from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
