Stella Ann (Lelakis) Zilinsky, 89, of Worcester, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014, in Saint Francis Home, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband, Algird Anthony Zilinsky in September 1976. Stella is survived by her daughter, Diane Arachikavitz of Worcester, with whom she lived until the last year of her life; a son, Thomas Zilinsky and his wife Paulette of South Grafton; three sisters, Phyllis Morin of Worcester, Helen Zelesky of Brookfield and Pauline Dell'Olio of Worcester; two grandchildren, Taylor Arachikavitz and Matthew Zilinsky; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Josephine Posterro. Stella was born in Hardwick, daughter of the late John and Stella (Stankus) Lelakis. Stella had a strong work ethic and remained very active for as long as she was able. She held many jobs over the years, and retired at 63 after working as a machinist for PressMet Company. Not one to sit back and relax, she went back to work at 64 for R.J. Toomey Company and re-retired at 80. Stella also had a strong faith and loved her family. She was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church. She enjoyed going to BINGO and her Saturday's at Twin Rivers Calling Hours will be held on Monday, April 7, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 8, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester. Interment at Notre Dame Cemetery, will be held privately.
