Angie E. Moore

April 14, 1920 — March 30, 2014

Angie E. (Zambarano) Moore, "Gammy" 93, of Worcester passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the Ichabod Washburn Hospice with her family gathered beside her. Her husband, Michael J. Moore passed away January 26, 2012. Angie was born in Worcester, one of eight children of Caesar and Maude (Litchfield) Zambarano. She was a graduate of South High School and in 1951 married the love of her life and partner for the next 60 years, Michael J. Moore. Angie worked an Instructional Assistant for the Worcester Public Schools for over 10 years. Angie was a devoted wife and mother who spent her life caring for her family; she especially enjoyed cooking for family gatherings. Gammy could whip up a meal to feed a crowd in minutes. Gammy greatly cherished the times spent with her grandchildren. She was an avid Red Sox fan and looked forward to any opportunity to watch a Red Sox game. She enjoyed her daily Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy shows. She also loved painting, knitting and enjoyed making Afghans and baby sweaters. She is survived by her two children, James F. Moore and his wife Angela of Worcester and Patricia A. Woodward and her longtime companion, David Phelps of Oxford; five grandchildren, Christopher and his wife Michelle, Michael, Ashlee, Michael J., and Thomas; eight great grandchildren and a sister, Louise Buckle of New Jersey. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her four brothers, Paul, Alfredo, Ralph and Thomas Zambarano and two sisters, Mary Brumback and Frances Risling. Her family extends a special thanks to Central MA Hospice and to the Ichabod Washburn Hospice for their exceptional care and kindness given to their mother. Family, friends and others whose lives Angie touched are invited to MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 4th.
