Patrick C. Nardero, 82, of Worcester passed away peacefully, joining his wife Julia in heaven, whom he missed so much, Monday March 24th 2014 with family at his bedside, after a brief battle with leukemia. Patrick was born in Worcester, a son of Italian immigrants, Frank and Madalena (Monfreda) Nardero. He grew up and was educated in the Worcester Public School. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict to serve his country. After returning from Korea, Patrick met and married Julia "Judy" Turcotte and together they settled in the grafton hill section of Worcester where they have life happily raising their family for 54 years before Judy passed away in 2009. Pat is survived by his four devoted children, Linda Pizzarella and her husband Joseph of Pasco, Washington, Diane M. Allaire with whom he lived, Brenda Smith and her husband Michael of Oxford and Frank Nardero of Worcester; two sisters, Eleanor "Helen" Dunkerton and Florence M. Collins both of Worcester; four grandchildren he adored and who adored him, Andrea, Joseph Jr., Ashley, and Paul; five great grandchildren, Zoe, Roy, twins Luca and Liliana and Silas; Many nieces, nephews, in laws, extended family and friends. Five sisters, Nancy Capone, Elvira Zannotti, Kathryn Elia, Josephine Martucci and Jennie Abasciano and a brother, Carlo P. Nardero. Patrick worked as a member of the Teamsters Union Local 170, operating as a truck driver for Camosse Brothers Company in Auburn for over 30 years before retiring. After retirement Patrick worked part time for Omar Prunier Company and Casa Builders for several years. . Patrick was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church. He was all about family. His wife, children and grandchildren were the most important part of his life. The happiest times of his life were those when his whole family was around him. Pat had just returned from Washington State where he met the youngest of his great grandchildren. He missed his wife Julie so much he often mentioned "What a life without a wife" Patrick also loved to garden and during the spring, summer and fall months could often be found tending to his and all his children's yards. He was a true family man. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family during calling hours Sunday, March 30th from 3pm to 6 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 am from the funeral home with a Mass at 10:00 am, in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd. Burial with Military honors next to Julia will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his name can be made to Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd. 01604.
